2010’s Sydney Festival promises to be better than ever. Words by Eleanor Griffin.
The annual entertainment of the Sydney Festival will begin on 9 January 2010 and is expected to attract around 1 million people to its unique performances. On the Festival First Night the balconies and rooftops of the city will stage international and Australian acts with theatre, drama and music, and in his first Australian performance the gospel singer Reverend Al Green will headline at the Domain. The Manganiyar Seduction will play at Hyde Park, Uber Lingua at Chifley Square, and laneways will be illuminated with light and video installations.
