    Good story but you missed the best bakery on the North Coast of NSW.
    Hearthfire in Bellingen is regarded as up there with the renowned Bourke St
    Bakery in Sydney . No big deal but thought I’d mention it

    It is hard to imagine how Red Beard’s bakery in Trentham, Victoria would not be on this list?
    Many famous chefs, not just me, consider it the finest bakery in Australia, not just regional Australia. Pure organic ingredients, simply dealt with, nothing complicated, and baked in a wood-fired Scotch oven that is over 100 years old and they also run bread-making classes. There is no better bread in the world!

    For your bakeries supplement, you must include Althea in Mudgee. Stunning breads, sourdoughs, baguettes, and pattiserie. By far and away the best rural bakery i have tasted in Australia. Better than Ziggies in Bronte.

    The list should have included : The Bakehouse in Portarlington on the Bellarine in Victoria. Great bread, great coffee and the best vanilla almond croissants to be had anywhere. Just my humble opinion. Robert from Starhaven Retreat

    All to be found on the Kidman Way.

    The Balranald Bakery does the best vanilla slice I have ever tasted! Should be on your list!

    Hayden’s Pies in Ulladulla definitely needed a mention, though the South Coast did already get a few mentions. They deserve to make this list though!

    Zest is my all time favourite bakery. It’s actually hard to choose when you go in, everything is so mouth watering. The pastry is to die for!

    It would be lovely if bakeries stocked some Gluten Free options. Even if they are only bought in and frozen, if they can’t provide their own.
    Statistics say 1 in 100 people are affected by Coeliac Disease, requiring a Gluten Free diet, which, when you extend that to their families, is quite a number of people whose access to bakeries may be limited.
    It would be great to know who caters for this, particularly when traveling.

    our bakery in CONONDALE QLD, CRYSTAL WATERS SOURDOUGH BAKERY, ecovillage only sourdough bread and danishes, bake in a wood fire oven built by ALLAN SCOTT, only organic flour from KIALLA and WHOLEGRAIN MILLING. can be a place to visit, we are open on saturday morning and doing market all around interland area.. welcome to visit..
