Attend Neo at the Art Gallery of South Australia, a series of artist-led workshops that promise epic fun for teenagers. Held six times a year and completely free (check out dates here to see if they coincide with your planned visit), the program includes joining in on art workshops led by local artists, enjoying live music by SA teens and taking part in performances and activities.
Neo Ultraviolet in August will feature luminescent drawing while Neo teen takeover in October promises to be the biggest event yet with a Battle of the Bands and aerosol street art sessions.

If you fancy yourself as the next Gordon Ramsay (with less swearing, of course) an afternoon session at Sprout Cooking School taking on one of its cooking classes for teens aged from 12 to 16 is just for you. The focus here is on healthy food that you can make from scratch, so you will be expected to roll up your sleeves and do all the work for yourselves, but the reward at the end is digging into a plate of food that you made all by yourself.

A day at the beach at Glenelg is a must during any visit to Adelaide, but you can super-size the experience by seeing its sights onboard a zippy Segway. Segway Sensation SA’s 60-minute Glenelg Beach Tour will have you learning the basics on the grass at Moseley Square before setting off on a six-kilometre trail.

The passion project of a former Crows and Geelong player, all things football rule here at AFL Max (located near Adelaide Airport), an indoor activities centre where teens can brush up on their ball skills and have some fun while doing it. From honing your kicking skills to scaling one of the 14 climbing walls to bouncing in the AFL-themed trampoline area, everything here is designed to be of benefit, to your
game, your fitness and your happiness.
Send them 10 minutes down the road to Henley Beach for pizza and tapas at Melt Henley.
Heading out from Garden Island, Adventure Kayaking SA’s Dolphin Sanctuary and Ship’s Graveyard Tour will take you through sheltered mangrove lined creeks in search of birds and marine life, and through the Ship’s Graveyard where relics of old vessels sit in the water long abandoned. The highlight of your three hours on the water will be seeing cheeky Port River dolphins up close.
There’s not much to do nearby and you know your parents would love to see the dolphins too so let them tag along, just this once.
